Because if your blood sugar feels unstable, your weight is fluctuating, your inflammation is up, or your energy feels fragile, we do eventually need to talk about your sleep patterns.
But Part 1 is less about deep metabolic science and more about the culture of your home, the rhythms of your nights, and what it actually looks like to stop striving and start resting.
Think of this episode as laying the groundwork.
We are not here to cram metabolic advice down your throat. We are inviting you into how we actually live this out. The late night temptations. The Alexa bedtime reminders. The real conversations on the couch after a long day.
This is the real life side of metabolic health.
So if you are looking for hacks, this probably is not that episode.
This is groundwork.
This is culture building.
This is rhythm forming.

For years, I believed I could do anything with enough prayer and coffee.
Ironically, it started making me feel dead inside.
Y’all… that was striving.
And it wreaked havoc on my metabolic health.
I was too driven.
Too caffeinated.
Too focused on pushing harder.
Underneath it all was performance.
This episode is for you if:
• You feel wired at night but exhausted in the morning
• You sacrifice sleep first when life gets busy
• You have equated productivity with worth
• You love Jesus but struggle to rest
• You are trying to improve metabolic health but feel stuck

Even though this episode is more heart than heavy science, here is what we cannot ignore:
When sleep slips, cortisol rises.
When cortisol rises, blood sugar becomes harder to regulate.
When blood sugar becomes unstable, cravings increase and fat loss slows.
You cannot out supplement chronic sleep deprivation.
Hebrews 12 reminds us that discipline produces peace. I am learning that going to bed on time can be an act of obedience, not restriction.
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” –Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)
Livin’ a metabolically healthy lifestyle can be hard enough.
Livin’ a Christian lifestyle genuinely set on fire for Jesus in our culture can be difficult at times.
That’s why this cannot be done in our own strength.
We get to walk this out with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Not stacking faith on top of health.
Blending them.
So your rhythms become worship.
So your bedtime becomes stewardship.
So your body becomes home again.
To do this sustainably, we have to surrender and sleep.
“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching…” –Ephesians 4:14
Before you overhaul your nutrition.
Before you add another supplement.
Before you tighten your macros.
Ask yourself:
Am I surrendering my bedtime?
He can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.
Including multiplying our time and capacity.
But will you surrender your sleep and let Him?
Start by auditing your current sleep rhythm.
• What time am I actually going to bed?
• Am I living in a weekend sleep warrior cycle?
• Do I feel wired at night but exhausted in the morning?
• Is my late night productivity actually striving?
